I recently bought 2 DVDs showing Richard Scmid painting several paintings from start to finish. It was like taking a $1000 workshop for a fraction of the price! This is the first painting I have done since seeing the DVDs. Of course I am just slowly absorbing all he suggests and this painting is no masterpiece, but it is exciting to see the improvement. I love his work--everything about it is exciting to me--the line, edges, focal point, loose brushwork on and on. Plan to get out soon and photograph all the beautiful wildflowers that are now rushing out and decorating the hill country surrounding San Antonio.
